If you are interested in crafts why not come along and meet our enthusiastic group and see if you would like to join us.

We all have different craft interests, which we share with the rest of the group.
Members Interests include: knitting, crochet, cross-stitch, canvas work, blackwork, traditional embroidery, card making,  jewellery, felting, parchment work, and fabric box making, plus many other techniques.

From time to time we run mini workshops which introduce members to a new craft or a project .  We have made origami boxes, small gift bags, strawberry pincushions and a one-stitch embroidery suitable for a card.

Each year the group makes items to decorate the U3A Christmas Tree at the St Swithun's Tree Festival and in 2016 we made Stars and decorated a tree for the Grove Street Methodist Star Festival.  A theme is chosen at the start of the year and members make items throughout the year.

Members also knit hats, scarves and gloves throughout the year, from wool donated by members and others. These are donated to the Hope Charity for the Homeless where they are warmly received.

In addition we arrange visits to craft fairs such as the NEC and Harrogate which enables us to bring new ideas back to the group.

We would welcome any new members to share our knowledge and expertise.
