2016


	Melton Mowbray Food Festival - 1 October On Saturday 1st October 45 members departed Kettlwells for Melton Mowbray. Nearly six hours were spent experiencing the delights of the 365 stalls tasting the foods and beverages that were on offer. There were food demonstration classes (including how to make a pork pie) and musical interludes. The weather in the main behaved itself but we did experience a rather heavy downpour however the local hostelries were good avenues of escape.
	National Memorial Arboretum- 12/13 June Today, 11 July, 23 members ignored the horrible weather forecast and headed off to the National Memorial Arboretum and thoroughly enjoyed a rain free but very cloudy day
	Norfolk - 12/13 June 29 members enjoyed an overnight visit to Norfolk which included a trip of the broads at Wroxham and a night in a hotel in Norwich. The weather did in the main behave itself but when the rain did come down it was monsoon like!!

	Pickering to Whitby by Steam train 1st July	57 members enjoyed a nice sunny day at Whitby followed by fish & chips!!
	Anderton Boat lift 7th July	Twenty seven members had a visit to Arley Hall & Gardens and then journeyed on to the Anderton Boat Lift. There they boarded a barge for the lift to take them down 50ft - vertical link between 2 waterways, the River Weaver & the Trent & Mersey Canal, followed by a short ride on the river.
	JCB factory tour with Afternoon Tea Monday 30th March	Photographic evidence of today's visit. It was very informative and enjoyable. 22 Members went with 12 ladies and 10 men. After the comprehensive tour we all enjoyed a cream and jam scone (sorry new walking group), baked on the premises and served with tea and or coffee! Amazing to think that the Company is still family owned.
